Description
Panasonic LUMIX DC-G9 MK II Digital Camera Body
The Panasonic LUMIX DC-G9 MK II Digital Camera Body is perfect for solo creators and those looking for a high zoom, good action performance, and a fast camera with a lightweight system. Capture the decisive moment with the Lumix G9 II, with a new engine, new sensor, and PDAF technology. All in a Micro Four Thirds Model for Still Images with Improved High-Speed Performance and Ergonomics. Overall this creates a highly mobile and versatile camera system when combined with the compact, lightweight, and diverse range of LUMIX G Series lenses
Exceptional image quality
The Panasonic G9 II features a new 25.2MP sensor with PDAF (Phased Detection Auto-Focus), 13+ stops with dynamic range boost, and ISO 100-25600 extendable on the low end to 50. Incorporating the latest engine with L2 Technology the camera features a higher resolution, higher bit rate, and minimal rolling shutter.
It has a 100MP high-resolution mode in-cam and handheld, as well as real-time LUTs for photo and video which help you to streamline your workflow with colour grading, reducing the need for post-processing. A combined high dynamic range image can be composed in real-time with a single exposure. This works by combining a highly saturated image with a low-noise image through image synthesis, to achieve a HDR image.
New shooting modes
Featuring Live-view composite mode for night sky shooting, stars, and astrophotography. This allows you to stack images and only track the light points resulting in a more dramatic image that avoids blown-out skies from light pollution. Providing Leica’s legendary monochrome style now on LUMIX, achieving deep contrasts between black and white, as well as a number of other photo styles now available including, L Classic Neo, Flat, Like709, Hybrid Log Gamma, and more.
Fast shooting and PDAF
The first LUMIX G with Phase Hybrid AF, consisting of Phase Detection, Contrast, and Detection autofocus, the Lumix G9 II offers significantly improved subject tracking and has had its AF points increased to 779.
Animal eye AF, car and motorcycle recognition modes, and more accurate human body recognition for better tracking, particularly in scenes with multiple people. The camera features AF Assist Functions such as AF-Point Scope, which enlarges the subject temporarily for confirmation of the focusing position, and MF Assist 20x, to allow more precise manual focus.
The new engine enables burst shooting with AFC at 60fps, while raw shutter speed has increased up to 10fps with AFC. Furthermore, enhanced buffer memory enables approximately 3 seconds of burst shooting. In terms of a pre-burst shooting mode, you can now go back up to 1.5 seconds before the button press, to ensure you capture that decisive moment.
Robust image stabilisation
Improved 8.0-stop 5-axis BIS compensation power is provided even at slower shutter speeds, with 7.5-stop 5-axis Dual IS 2 offering compensation when using longer telephoto lenses, by relying on some of the lens’s stabilisation.
Outstanding mobility and intuitive control
For superior usability, an 8-directional joystick has been added and the eye sensor has been relocated. Furthermore, the camera is dust/splash/freeze resistant in design, for even the most adventurous shots.
The Battery Grip DMW-BG1E (sold separately) can be added for more comfortable vertical handling and to extend the battery life of the G9 Mk II.
Compatibility with USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C allows shooting while charging at high speed, ideal for longer shoots. Plus USB PD compatibility means the battery can be charged while supplying power to the camera via the USB Power Delivery standard-compliant battery charger model DMW-BTC15 (sold separately). The camera also comes with a full-sized HDMI Type A port for versatility.
Video without compromise
Capable of high-speed and high-resolution video, the G9 Mk II grants 5.7K 60p and 4K/C4K 120P in 10-bit.
It can record video to its USB-C port via USB-SSD recording, offering a range of benefits including a high capacity, heat resistance, and better workflow efficiency. This means it can also record ProRes Codec Video to its USB-SSD in 422 HQ or 422 form full HD up to 5.7K, further streamlining your workflow with high image quality at low compression.
Slow and quick motion are also available, going up to 300fps for FHD and 120fps for 4K in 4:2:0 10-bit.
Large improvements for stabilisation have been made for video use in particular, with New Active IS and improved Advanced EIS reducing shake and correcting perspective distortion.
Featuring 4-channel audio, as 4ch 48kHz or 96kHz 24-bit recording with an XLR microphone adaptor DMW-XLR1 (sold separately), perfect for narration, interviews, or backup recording.
Recording has been made even more user-friendly with Video Assist Functions such as Frame Indicator, Frame Marker, and AWB Lock.
